Right now, we're looking to add a passionate public media enthusiast to support our National & Washington DC teams, focused on delivering exceptional client experience to our sponsors & working as a trusted collaborator across the organization.

The role will be remote, but based local to our partner station https://wamu.org

  • Are well-organized, able to handle the day to day admin. tasks that help keep an organization moving forward, are a strong communicator & an enthusiastic public media ambassador 

 

  • Understand the DC business landscape, are always curious & enjoy seeking out opportunities for the team to upsell & grow business across new categories

Flexible work location

Your understanding and familiarity with the DC business community will be an essential part of the role, but while you will be located in the DC area (VA,MD, DC),  you will be working fully remote. We want you to do your best work, and that can be from wherever you're most comfortable, on the deck, in your home office and with a commute that's only as far as your couch!

You are our ideal candidate if you have...

  • High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills with a background in delivering exceptional customer experience
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, develops trusted relationships
  • Target-driven, meet deadlines, highly structured & organized
  • Keen understanding of digital media is preferred, as is success in delivering post-sales support selling integrated media programs including on-air, digital, events and cause marketing strategies
  • A broad-based business acumen with marketing knowledge across multiple key categories
  • A strong understanding of the wider DC market including business category knowledge, local events, and key players
  • Strong data analysis skills, ability to collate & condense information & present in report format
  • Highly collaborative team player

What a typical day might look like

We are all about developing win-wins and building strong business relationships! Representing independent public media, you’ll be a trusted advocate for our sponsors in their post-sales journey, working with our sales teams to deliver on our promises & then some! You'll help identify new categories and opportunities. Brainstorming ideas with collegues, sharing solutions with our wonderful sponsors and client stations will fill your day. A people person, you will be engaging with business leaders, generating reports to share with key stakeholders, helping the team with creative multimedia sponsorship packages. We encourage your curiosity and you’ll spend part of your day learning and developing your knowledge-base. Our days are varied! And WAMU is our inspiration & the soundtrack to our workdays.
