What does an Analytical Technician do at companies like MAYNE PHARMA?

Position Overview

This position is an introductory level position to Analytical Instrument Service; basic calibration and maintenance of HPLC systems will be learned.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Calibration:  Perform scheduled calibration and maintenance events on HPLC instrumentation
  • Instrument Maintenance:  Perform routine maintenance required during calibration of instruments
  • Quality:  Ensure the quality of work, products, and services as a first priority; comply with or exceed or exceed all regulatory and cGMP compliance standards as well as ensure accuracy and analyses as it relates to right first-time measures
  • Safety:  Adhere to all workplace safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices and actively advance a culture of safety within his or her team and organization

Specific Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with maintaining a current calibration schedule of all equipment and instrumentation in Blue Mountain by submitting completed work order forms for data entry
  • Keep calibration notebooks, logbooks, and records current and organize
  • Participate in instrument installation and appropriate training sessions (especially when performed vendors) to become knowledgeable about the specifics of specialized instrumentation
  • Responsibilities and activities can be related to specific calibrations such as GC, eSAT/IN, Dissolution, UV/VIS, etc.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Some exposure to hazardous chemicals and other active chemical ingredients
  • Position requires the capacity to handle and manipulate objects using hands and arms
  • Stand for long periods of time
