  • -Must have previous experience as delegated Engineering Representative on complex timber sale contracts.
  • -Knowledge of contract terms and specifications related to construction operations.
  • -Knowledge of Agency policies and procedures related to engineering plans and programs.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
  • Civil3D
  • Softree RoadEng
  • ERFO related software
  • SPARCS
Duties:

Engineering mentoring and advising on timber sale and public works contracts.

  • Mentoring and training of engineer trainees during administration of road packages on timber sale contracts. Mentoring and training on administration of public works contracts related to roads and bridges.   80%
  • Provides guidance and advice in the review of timber sale contract road packages for accuracy and quality control.   10%
  • Provides guidance and advice in the review of public works contracts dealing with roads, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure.   10%

Other:
  • Overnight travel: Travel could be as much as 4-5 days per month
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Valid driver's license and review of Job Hazard Analysis at the unit for the position.
  • Required Safety Gear: Basic field going PPE: Hardhat, field boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, long sleeved shirt and pants.
  • Sawyer training info: N/A
  • Physical requirements: Must have the ability to work outside in a variety of environmental conditions. Hiking/walking on uneven terrain in arduous conditions is common.
