SUMMARY: 
A Career Coach serves as a student recruiter to help ensure that enrollment goals are met by using creative methods to engage potential students within local K-12 schools and the community.  The individual will foster strong relationships and be a representative of NTC on and off campus and present to groups and meet with potential students to effectively recommend appropriate career paths for students including the next steps available. 

CLASSIFICATION: 
Technical Support Professional, full-time, full-year (40 hours/week, 52 wks per year.)  Typical schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8 working hours per day. While these hours are typical, they may be subject to change and include evenings and/or weekends as workload and needs of our customers and work areas change.

1.    As a first point of contact for prospective students, assist with navigating career paths and encouraging application to NTC in order to contribute to the team goal of obtaining 30% high school enrollment by 2020."

2.    Provide career and post-secondary educational planning services to prospective students both adult and high school.

3.    Assess the needs of area High Schools for Career and College Advising Services. Promote, arrange, and schedule services for students in multiple school districts, working with school counselors, instructors, administrators, dual credit teachers, parents, and regional campus staff.

4.    Participate in recruitment activities (special events, open houses, parent teacher conferences) when appropriate.

5.    Respond to admissions e-mails, call center, and Olark Chat as needed, assisting prospective students with the information being requested, enter these prospects into CRM.

6.    Help will all K-12 events, assist with coordination and implementation of activities.

7.    Connect with student success team to understand programs and learner needs to best assist learners in career decision making.

8.    Work with the Career Coach team to create a tool kit to ensure consistency with messaging.

9.    Enter all prospective students into CRM, and follow up with them until they apply.

10.  Provide comprehensive college information to students regarding occupational training programs and admissions processes/requirements at NTC, financial aid, and other NTC services, making referrals when appropriate.

11.  Case manage prospective students, including, prospective adults, dual credit students, youth option students, contract students, course option students and youth apprenticeship students.

12.  Stay current on NTC admission guidelines & programs, continuing education opportunities for students, and trends in higher education.

13.  Maintain a collaborative relationship with faculty, staff, and administration in support of admissions initiatives, up-to-date course information, program admission capacities, program outcomes, instructor expectations, etc.

14.  Work with marketing department to ensure that social media engagements are effective and appropriate.

15.  Manage individual campus tour requests so that the all requests are accommodated in a timely manner.

16.  Document and assess activities using metrics to effectively refine processes continually.

17.  Perform additional duties as requested.

1.    Bachelor's degree preferred, Associate's degree required with relevant experience will be considered.

2.    Minimum of two years of experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, customer service, or enrollment services, preferably in a higher education setting.

3.    Demonstrated knowledge of the Wisconsin Technical College System and NTC Programs, and a desire to promote technical college education.

4.    Demonstrated proficiency to use current and cutting-edge technology.

5.    Strong customer service and case management experience. Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers.

6.    Demonstrated skill in working with populations having diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds.

7.    Communicate and present ideas effectively one-on-one and group settings, with effective oral, written and presentation skills.

8.    Effectively plan and coordinate activities and programs.

9.    Able to work in a collaborative, team-oriented and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

10.  Driver's license with the ability to meet NTC's insurance carrier standards with the ability to travel to area schools and events.

11.  Marketing/sales experience and Spanish-speaking ability preferred

Additional Physical Requirements:
Vision: Adequate with aid to read instructions, labels, documents, computer screens, and differentiate between colors.
Hearing: Adequate with aid to understand oral requests, telephone conversation, and PA systems.
 
Required Employee Program Safety Training: 
Emergency action plan, emergency procedures and ergonomics (office/workplace) and slips, trips and falls
