Oak Hall School is accepting applications for energetic, creative, caring, and motivated individuals to join our Extended Care Team in our Early Childhood (Pre-K-K - Eaglets), Lower School (Grades 1-5 - Soaring Eagles), or Middle School Division (Grades 6-8 - The Nest).  

Key Responsibilities

• Inter-active after school supervision of students from age 3 through 8th grade
• Actively supervise playground activities
• Supervise completion of homework
• Coordinate, participate in, and supervise games, crafts, and appropriate indoor activities during inclement weather
• Accompany students to/from athletic practices and/or other extracurricular activities, as needed
• Monitor the health, welfare, and safety of participants
• Arranges medical attention of ill or injured children in accordance with parental instructions and school policies; provides minor first aid as required
• Check-in and dismissal duties, as assigned
• Demonstrate initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement. Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events
• Greets parents/caregivers who are known; obtain proper identification of parents/caregivers who are not know to determine their ability to pick up a student from Extended Care
• Meet regular and predictable attendance requirements, including punctuality
• Perform duties in a manner that reflects positively on Oak Hall School
• Be a role model of integrity and good conduct
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school degree or GED required
• Completion of one year of coursework toward Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• Experience working with age-appropriate children
• Possess an enthusiasm for working with children in an educational setting
• Possess a basic understanding of the developmental needs of adolescent children
• Good verbal skills with students, colleagues, and parents
• Positive attitude and enthusiastic demeanor
• Ability, willingness, and judgment to communicate effectively with students, parents, co-workers

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Works in a noisy, fast paced environment both indoors and outdoors.
• May sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Works primarily in a traditional climate controlled environment
• Work occasionally in outside weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat, and cold
• Ability to actively circulate throughout the diverse School campus
• Ability to visually and audibly locate students under their supervision
