Hourly Wage for OAK HALL PRIVATE SCHOOL Faculty - Physical Education Upper and Middle School Salary in the United States

Oak Hall School is seeking a dynamic educator and coach to join our Physical Education team in a challenging college preparatory environment. We invite well-qualified candidates to apply for this position which will begin August 2021.

• Support the mission of Oak Hall School
• Coach a sport or sports 
• Teach 5 classes of Middle and Upper School Physical Education
• Promote a positive classroom environment and demonstrate strong classroom management skills to create and maintain a learning environment that ensures high levels of learning for all students
• Plan and creatively teach a Physical Education curriculum focused on developing students’ with a focus on age appropriate skill building, fitness, cooperative games, sportsmanship, friendly competition, and appreciation of physical fitness
• Inspire students to develop a passion to remain physically active
• Assess and document each student’s performance/progress both formally and informally to meet the School's standards, and provide regular feedback to students and their parents
• Work collaboratively with the PE Department
• Work collaboratively with and be an active member of the PE Department, the Middle and Upper School team, the Athletics Department, and the greater Oak Hall community
• Serve as a mentor and advocate for your students
• Be a role model of integrity and professionalism
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of students
• Meet regular and predictable attendance requirements, including attending division and other school meetings, professional days, and other required events.
• Adhere to School policies as described in the Employee Handbook and other materials
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or similar
• Bachelor’s degree in another field with 3 years of experience coaching students can substitute
• Teaching experience, 3 to 5 years preferred
• Ability to serve as coach for junior varsity and/or varsity sports
• Proven ability to work well as a member of a team
• Be comfortable and adept with the effective use of technology in the learning process
• Knowledge and understanding of various learning styles and differentiated instruction
• Ability to inspire, engage, empower, and educate and evaluate students with vigor and creativity
• A history of commitment to professional development and life-long learning
• The ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents and faculty
• A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct both in and outside of school
• Ability, willingness, and judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately, and concisely with all constituents in a school environment, both verbally and in writing
• Enthusiasm and commitment to the vision and Mission of the School

Compensation includes comprehensive employee benefits package; salary is commensurate with background and experience.
