What does a Product Analyst do at companies like ONIT?

Onit is looking to add a Product Analyst to our fast-growing Onit team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with other members of the team to gather, process, analyze information/requirements needed for the Onit Platform and/or product lines. Onit’s App Builder Platform helps organizations automate their operations and support products/processes such as Enterprise Legal Management, Contract Management, Legal Service Requests, Legal Holds and Incident Response. You will consume the software requirements determined by Product Management and use the product development lifecycle process to incorporate new features into the Onit App Builder Platform or products. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to analyze, plan and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with Product Management and customers to understand business requirements and market problems
  • Understand business requirements and business value in order to write user stories and acceptance criteria/technical criteria to be consumed by developers throughout the release cycle
  • Work with Product Managers to stay on top of current/future release cycles to keep consistent development throughput
  • Collaborate on project management and coordination/deployment of software releases
  • Assist/guide developers on tasks during iteration with clarification of requirements/acceptance criteria
  • Provide a support channel to internal clients (professional services, customer success, sales engineers, etc.)
  • Prepare details of development work needed from escalation path and prioritize according to existing work in the iteration
  • Work with the Product Managers to prioritize work need for the product lines based on the product roadmap
  • Continue to improve on agile project management methodologies

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Four or more years of experience with detailed software analysis and planning. Prior experience in agile software development and with SaaS software platforms is a plus.
  • Proven ability to convert user requirements to user stories and acceptance criteria 
  • Ability to understand technical requirements in order to translate into tasks for developers
  • Strong problem-solving ability, critical thinking skills, attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Applies analytical and problem-solving skills to work on complex issues
  • Must be able to work well independently or as part of a team
  • Must show positive attitude, ability to meet deadlines
  • Have the ability to determine sense of urgency and convey this to others
  • Understanding of software development, cloud-based software and testing approaches
  • Ability to identify risks that become present during a release lifecycle and communicate those risks to the team
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its life cycle
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field desirable
