About the Job

This role is a gateway to the world of online training and the perfect job for someone who wants a career in library science. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for maintaining our catalog. You will use existing skills and learn new ones to take a metrics-driven approach to optimizing and reporting on our product offering. We are looking for a juggler who loves having multiple balls in play and rarely if ever drops them.

Once you have all of this figured out we’ll then ask you to make the entire department even better. If becoming a superstar is on your list of near-term goals, this may be the perfect position for you.

Position Duties 

  • Prepares, loads, and runs quality assurance on routine course imports and updates.
  • Conducts audits of catalog data, including assembling and cleaning data, and updating data in the catalog.
  • Works with Curation Specialists keep up-to-date with their latest content offerings, including monitoring the course pipeline.
  • Liaison to Product/Development for ongoing development of the product.
  • Maintain the course taxonomy of our site, including how courses are organized and merchandised by assigning subject, competencies and other target metadata to elearning courses. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for catalog maintenance processes, develops internal training materials, and provides ongoing technical assistance to fellow employees interacting with catalog resources.
  • Make recommendations for catalog improvement based on research and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in library science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with spreadsheet software (Google Sheets, MS Excel) and relational databases.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheet formulas or SQL querying, or a capacity and desire to quickly learn these skills.
  • 2+ years of work experience in data analytics, operational analysis, cataloging, statistics, or a related field that included performing analysis, statistical evaluation, database design, maintenance, administration, and statistical reporting.
  • 1+ year previous experience in a library or archive, academic institution, elearning organization, human resources department, digital assets management, or a related field.
