Job Function
The purpose of this job is to develop, manage and sell marketing and sales activity, so that Post Consumer Brands sales volume, profit, and ROIC goals are achieved. Candidate will report to the Team Lead, supporting one of Post Consumer Brands top 10 largest U.S. Customers, C&S Wholesale Group. The Account Manager will manage all aspects of the everyday responsibilities of servicing PCB’s RTE, Hot cereal and snack business at specific C&S retailers with the goal of creating 'Win / Win' opportunities to grow our collaborative business. Effective time management, attention to detail, building and fostering key customer and internal relationships, along with planning/organizing will be required to be successful.
Major Job Activities
1. Immediate direct sales call and responsibility for C&S Robesonia, Piggly Wiggly Carolina and East Coast Independents with future responsibilities for Southeast Grocers.
2. Meet or exceed sales targets and stay within allocated trade budget at assigned customers.
3. Ability to close business opportunities and make an impact with the assigned group of customers.
4. Develop and implement merchandising programs/calendars that maximize profitable growth and meet the needs of Post Consumer Brands, C&S and the retailer.
5. Sell new items, merchandising & distribution plans that maximizes product mix, ensures correct placement, compliance with price points and maximizes promotional opportunities.
6. Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews and Joint Business Planning meetings with allocated customers and work internally with Post Consumer Brands as needed.
7. Participate in retail activities and close retail voids in conjunction with retail team.
8. Maintain coordination with internal Post Consumer Brands departments to ensure all programs, sales initiatives, issues, opportunities and questions are resolved in a timely manner.
9. Evaluate and adjust sales plans to ensure plan implementation and achievement.
10. Sell Post Consumer Brands merchandising objectives to customer. Establish working relationship with key decision makers at all levels of the organization.
11. Accurate forecasting and communication sharing with Post Consumer Brands Demand planners.
12. Partner with Category Manager in development and delivery of category analysis and presentations.
13. Able to prioritize multiple tasks, take initiative and develop solutions to complex problems which could involve the inclusion of other internal departments (marketing, sales strategy & trade, customer solutions, deductions, etc).
14. Represents Post Consumer Brands as primary contact on projects and customer needs.
Skills
Strong selling skills; effective interpersonal skills to build and maintain work relationships; effective in oral and written communications, including ability to prepare & present complex computer sales presentations; ability to identify and solve complex customer problems; self-management skills (set own priorities, plan/organize work, time management, follow through discipline, product results), and creative ability to generate ideas/concepts to increase sales, comfort around higher management.
Individual must be able to analyze and interpret Nielsen reports generated by their Category Management Manager, draw conclusions from the data, and make fact-based decisions that benefit both the Category & Post Consumer Brands.
Preferred trade management experience within a live accrual and has worked in proprietary sales forecasting and budget tracking systems. Experience with Accenture’s CAS product is preferred.
Job Requirements
• Education: 4 year college degree (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years in CPG sales &/or cross functional experience.
• Previous Sales support positions (trade management, category management, and consumer marketing) are desirable.
• Requires demonstrated skills in leadership and selling with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Must be effective at problem-solving (analysis, solution finding, and bringing resolution to a problem), communications (both written and oral), and self-management (self-starter, set priorities, plan/organize own work, good at detail and follow through)
• Excellent working knowledge of Syndicated data, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
