Position Summary: Responsible for positive public relations in our business community relating to recruitment and selection of Associates. Develop applicant pool for staffing needs at all business units and levels within the company. Assist in planning and implementation of formal systems to help business unit managers ensure effective and efficient recruitment and selection. Perform tactical and administrative functions which assist operations in meeting their human resources goals and achieving external compliance related to the employment function. Assist company in recruiting and selection of key corporate positions.

Job Duties:

  • Establish recruiting, staffing and retention strategies that support business objectives, improve Associate and business performance and gain a return on investment for the business
  • Build applicant sources by researching, contacting, developing and maintaining relationships with; community services, colleges, government agencies, businesses, recruiters, internet sites and current Associates; providing organization information, opportunities and benefits
  • Communicate with all company units to assess needs and determine recruiting strategies
  • Determine applicant requirements by studying job description, job qualifications and communicating with requesting Supervisor/Manager to hire right
  • Attract quality applicants by posting openings on job boards and other appropriate venues. Work with Web Designer to assure Quality Dairy website is attractive and updated as needed.
  • Make arrangements for and participate in job fairs, on and off site
  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Assure all candidates that are hired demonstrate the capacity to meet and/or exceed the Quality Dairy Vision of “Customer Service + 1”
  • Follow-up with new Associates to monitor adjustment and satisfaction
  • Provide support and direction for new Associates and Managers regarding employment relationship issues
  • Organize tasks to minimize applicant processing time
  • Assure compliance with OSHA/DOT/EEO/I-9 and other government regulations
  • Maintain records appropriately, complying with all legal requirements
  • Track results using dashboards and reporting tools
  • Responsible for new Associate background checks
  • Communicate with drug testing facility
  • Support Senior Recruiter in completion of Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) paperwork and monthly training classes
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations

Essential Skills, Abilities and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and Associates
  • Ability to work effectively with applicants, Associates and Management
  • Ability to develop programs, identify and resolve problems, set goals, analyze needs, and adapt to changing circumstances and personalities
  • Ability to prioritize time, meet deadlines and meet quality expectations
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information regarding the company, applicants and Associates
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to remain flexible in scheduling
  • Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and possess a strong desire to learn and improve
  • Experience with Microsoft programs, especially Excel and Word. Ability to learn current HRIS program.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, twist, lift and pull
  • Ability to use hands in a repetitive motion for prolonged periods of time
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or minimum of 2 years recruiting and staffing experience in related fields. Convenience store recruiting experience a plus.
  • Experience within a HR Generalist role, experience with assisting a benefits department. Preferably 2 years.
  • Human Resource Information System (HRIS) knowledge
