Description
Under the direction of the Planning Supervisor, the Master Scheduler is responsible for the development and maintenance of the MPS). The role of the Master Scheduler is responsible for all Product Lead Time, On time delivery and Production schedule maintenance. Also, for the development of ISO Work Instructions and Policies as required.
Specific Responsibilities:
1) Review any material and/or capacity changes that are required to meet any inside lead-time changes to the schedule as being requested by Sales or bookings. Make recommendation for earliest achievable date to increase the schedule for a specific Machine(s).
2) Review/Analyze/Publish top-level capacity reviews by working with the Production Manager for a bi-weekly window. These capacity reviews should be published bi-weekly to applicable parties.
3) Must formally communicate any/all MPS changes and/or Production Schedule changes to the Planning Supervisor, appropriate Planner, and Production Manager.
4) Must develop/publish and maintain monthly, quarterly and yearly reports that display progress against the Production Schedule Plan vs. Actual, On time, Actual Lead Time and Volumes.
5) Manage software items and granite (planner #10S and 4G.)
6) Work with CEG on all CEG related activities specific to special fixtures, charts, and machine schedule related to issues that may affect production commitments. The intent is to have CEG parts available prior to them becoming a shortage.
7) Update the Master Schedule with shortages, ECR’s, stoppage, and any pertinent notes/comments that could be used in meetings.
Requirements
1) 4-Year business or technical degree, plus 5 yrs. min. experience working in an MRP environment.
2) Strong verbal and written communications skills.
3) Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS WORD, and other Business Information Systems.
4) Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
5) Must be able to complete tasks on time
