Job Summary:

The Aquatics Supervisor takes full command of the pool deck and is responsible for the lifeguard staff following all policies and procedures.  Ensures that the EAP(emergency action plan) is followed in the event of an actual emergency.  Monitors guest activities in the swimming pool areas, prevents potential accidents, provides assistance to swimmers, and oversees the safety of the pools.

Essential Functions:

• Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe activities
• Rescues swimmers who are in danger of drowning and administers first aid when needed
• Maintains order in the swimming pool areas
• Inspects pools and surrounding areas for cleanliness
• May be asked to clean and refill swimming pools
• May be asked to determine chlorine content and PH levels in water using testing kits
• Appropriately documents accidents, incidents, and refusal of care as needed
• May conduct or officiate at water events such or special events
• May give swimming classes or instruction
• Supervises Lifeguards on each shift
• Conducts coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action
• Leads, plans, or assists in all safety trainings
• Ensures that in service training sessions are consistently held and that the lifeguards staff are proficient in their skills
• Maintains a flexible work schedule
• Ability to create a Lifeguard Schedule
• Able to assist in supervision of activities as needed
• Enforces all pool rules and SNHD regulations
• Enforces and follows all Covid19 policies and regulations

 Job Specifications:

• Must have a current Clark County or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• Must have or willing to obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Certification
• Must have a current CPR/AED certification
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Must have a professional appearance and attitude.
• Must have a minimum of six months experience in related field.
• Efficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook, Excel)
• Able to supervise, lead by example, and hold them accountable to the Aquatics Department’s SOPs, Policies, and Guidelines
