Description

The Adult Education Department is seeking an Administrative Specialist III/Intake for Kingsland. The hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position is grant funded; continued funding for this position is determined by the availability of State funding and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as the initial point of contact for parties interested in Adult Education information.
  2. Complete intake form(s) and assess student educational levels.
  3. Prepares and organizes files along with answering multiple phone lines. 
  4. Ability to establish and maintain a welcoming environment for staff and students
  5. Review, answer or prepare correspondence relating to agency/institution programs.
  6. Assists ABE Director by maintaining Personnel Attendance Reports (PARS), calendars, and prioritizing incoming correspondence.
  7. Compile and organize site visit materials, minutes, advertisements, and brochures for Adult Education.
  8. Demonstrate professionalism when asked to perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record keeping systems, forms control, and budgetary and personnel requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a welcoming environment for staff and students.
  • Assist with TABE and GED Ready testing as needed.
  • Knowledge of the principles and philosophies of Adult Education.
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and apply policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and software applications.
  • Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma;
  • One year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field
  • Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, upon review of the Qualifications Review Committee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Office Administration, Business Management, or a related field;
  • Three years experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed;
  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

Salary Range: Grade C112 on ADHE Pay Scale; $25,268 Annual
