The Speed Art Museum is Kentucky’s largest art museum with a collection that spans 6,000 years of human creativity. An independent museum located on the campus of the University of Louisville, the Speed has recently undergone a multi-phase expansion and renovation that includes a new North Building, state-of-the-art Cinema, Art Park and a public piazza. The Speed Art Museum has repeatedly been voted Kentucky's best museum and is considered one of the top ten sites each Kentuckian should visit. Job Skills / Requirements
The Finance and Operations Assistant is required to have impeccable attention to detail, who works independently with a strong focus on business analytics. The ideal candidate for this position will be a role model for service excellence as they interact with a diverse population of guest, vendors, and colleagues in a professional, and business-like manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively perform a wide range of complex and administrative tasks, working across departmentally.
- Analyze business information and financial data and prepare reports based on analyses.
- Drafts presentations, prepares and coordinates oral and written communications.
- Work with DDOF to develop an effect method for record keeping, retrieving the information, and disposing information that is not required.
- Manages daily operations for the DDOF by overseeing their calendar and logistics, scheduling meetings, maintaining operational files, and frequently communicating and interacting with staff, and external contacts.
- Recommend and implement strategies to create operational efficiencies.
- Plan and execute on specialized projects as assigned.
- Assist the business office with monthly reconciliation of accounts, work overflow and serve as back up as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Administrative and/or business office experience.

- Handle multiple tasks, priorities, and assignments in a fast-paced environment while keeping a professional and temperate demeanor with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, oral and written.
- Handle confidential information and exhibit good judgment.

- Work both independently and collaboratively.
- Be proactive with respect to suggestions for improving all aspects of programs and/or processes.
- Learn and apply new knowledge.

- Experience using a variety of software packages, including but not limited to intermediate-level use of Microsoft Office applications strengths in Outlook, Word and Excel.

Physical Demands
- Extensive use of telephone and computer throughout the workday.
- Sits, reaches, walks, climbs, and lifts intermittently throughout the workday so the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Communicates using English language.
- Sees and hears or uses prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., of twenty-five (25) pounds throughout the workday.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time exempt position. This position is NOT eligible for overtime pay
