Overview of Position:
In this position, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, both technical and non-technical, from planning, through execution, to successful implementation. As a Project Manager, you will primarily manage projects of higher complexity, higher risk, or higher impact on TechSmith and/or our customers. Great organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will help you help TechSmith succeed.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivering better team functioning and delivery of products through:
- creating the space for faster and more creative team conversations by paying attention to the process of creating and implementing ideas; making conversations easier, flow better and take less time
- harnessing the inherent diversity of team members and facilitating the team to embrace the constructive conflict that yields better solutions than occur when the team avoids conflict
- yielding better decisions by asking the open questions that find holes, challenge greater thought and ensure palpable buy-in
- garnering real commitment by getting out of the content themselves and putting teams at choice, resulting in them owning their decisions and moving into swift action
- improving team accountability to one another and to the product they build
- removing impediments inside the team through greater team facilitation, and reducing the effects of impediments outside the team by addressing the symptoms and root causes both
- taking a stand within the team as the Agile process guardian
- other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 2 years of project management experience; If not a Bachelor’s degree holder, then a minimum of a High School diploma with 5 years of overall project team experience including at least 2 years project management experience Experience in and/or knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, progress-oriented individual.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior facilitation skills.
- High level of curiosity
- Able to help facilitate teams through ambiguity to create action towards a desired outcome
- Must be comfortable with encouraging a culture of constructive controversy.
- Must be comfortable talking to individuals at various levels of responsibility in the organization.
- Great attitude and a self-starter.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without an employer-sponsored petition for a visa, such as an H-1B visa. TechSmith does not intend to file any visa applications in connection with this opening.
Preferred Skills and Background:
- Experience in Information Technology and/or Software Development environment
- Experience in facilitating teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban
- Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
