Description

SUMMARY:

The CAGE SUPERVISOR will assist the Cage Manager with the daily responsibilities of the Cashiering and Vault operations on their assigned shift.  This position is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of guest and employee financial transactions, as well as guest and employee relations.  The Cage Operations Supervisor also assists the Cage Operations Manager in ensuring company funds and assets are safeguarded and that compliance with department policy/procedures as well as regulatory requirements is achieved.  In the absence of the Cage Operations Manager, the Cage Operations Supervisor may be assigned to act in the capacity thereof.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The following is a list of the main duties/responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by reporting senior.

 

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Casino Cages and Vault during assigned shift, ensuring compliance with prescribed procedures and regulatory requirements (SFNGC, IRS, and NIGC, as applicable).
  • Monitor business needs and ensure staff resources are deployed to meet demands. Provide feedback for effective scheduling.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for assigned staff: coach and mentor staff to develop technical expertise (productivity, job knowledge) and guest service behaviors.
  • Perform end of shift cashier closeouts with necessary paperwork, compiling, verifying and preparing information and reports.  Research and document discrepancies/variances, if any.
  • Report any suspicious activity to appropriate management, Security and/or Surveillance personnel. Work with Accounting/Security/Surveillance to investigate unusual or suspicious activity, including cashier variances.
  • Verify significant/unusual transactions and ensure proper documentation is maintained (i.e.: payouts>$1000, MTL/CTRC reporting, manual checks, bank deposits, problem tickets, etc.)
  • Ensure a high level of customer service by maintaining awareness and monitoring staff performance.  Assist in resolution of guest and employee issues/disputes in a polite, professional manner.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Scheduling, appraising employee performance, issuing disciplinary action in concurrence with   the Table Games Manager, and resolving disputes.
  2. Can recommend to the Table Games Manager, performance standards, policy and procedure changes, promotions, demotions, transfers, hiring and terminations.
  3. This position may be assigned further supervisory authority when directed by Executive Management.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

2.Must be familiar with, and able to operate, computers, printers and card machines.

3.Supervisory experience in a financial environment Preferred.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required and one (1) year minimum of related experience
  2. Cash handling or casino cashiering experience preferred.
  3. Proven ability to work with numbers and cash accurately.   

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays and unexpected events.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Basic analytical and deductive reasoning ability.  Must be competent in computer skills.  Must have superior interpersonal relations skills
