Description
The Dining Services Aide is responsible for delivery of food and supplies to and from the serving pantries. Other responsibilities include cleaning the kitchen area and washing the dining/kitchenware in compliance with applicable food and sanitation codes. The Food Service Aide must also provide assistance to cooks during meal preparation when requested. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the assisted living philosophy.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
1. Delivers meals to pantries in accordance with the serving schedule.
2. Assists CNA with food service for lunch and dinner.
3. Ensures adequate supply of food and beverages are maintained in the serving pantries and break room.
4. Ensures supply of clean dishes, silverware and glasses are stocked in the serving pantries prior to meal service.
5. Maintains cleanliness of pantries including steamtables, coffee machines, juice machines and refrigerators.
6. Washes, dries and restocks pots, pans, plates, glasses and silverware according to proper methods of sanitation.
7. Cleans all kitchen surfaces and equipment.
8. Operates, disassembles, assembles, cleans and de-limes dishwasher.
9. Implements work standards, sanitation procedures, hygiene and safety standards in accordance with state and local code.
10. Maintains cleanliness of dry storage areas.
11. Demonstrates safe and proper techniques for chemical and cleaning solution use.
12. Maintains cleanliness of cooler and freezers.
13. Demonstrates knowledge of infection control techniques including cleaning, storage, and food handling.
14. Empties trash.
15. Sweeps and mops floors.
16. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
