The St. James is seeking an Event Sales Associate at its flagship location in Springfield, Virginia.

The Event Sales Associate will support the Director of Events and Catering in increasing event sales in respective accounts. A hands-on approach is necessary to effectively manage the quality of the customer service experience. This position will report directly to the Director of Events and Catering at The St. James.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all duties in accordance with Company policies, practices and procedures
• Manage assigned accounts and assist the sales director in responding to inbound leads
• Help to collaborate and develop outbound sales plan
• Call prospective clients and establish customer needs while building and sustaining a customer relationship
• Increase sales in respective accounts
• Prepare sales information for clients
• Manage clients’ orders via the phone or email
• Perform all other related duties as assigned
• Support the safety of all members, guests and employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years experience in event sales with proven driven results
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred
• Experience with Tripleseat is favorable
• Excellent problem and conflict resolutions skills required; must be able to effectively and professionally address guest complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
• Superior communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel or other front office software.
• Demonstrated multi-tasker with a commitment to superior guest service.
• Ability to work a very flexible schedule that will include late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision required
• Knowledgeable of safety training, procedures and best practices used throughout the sports and wellness industry.
