Village Pediatrics in Plano is seeking an experienced, outgoing, and reliable Certified Medical Assistant for our Front Office team that can also provide support to our clinical back office. Candidates must have previous experience in a medical/healthcare office. Superior customer service and computer skills are a must.

Duties for this position include:

  • Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, receive and post payments
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Check-in patients, collect co-pays and deductibles, and review billing charges
  • Maintain patient flow and clean work area and lobby
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide coverage for Back Office Medical Assistants when needed, to include:
    • Manage patient rooming to efficiently meet daily appointment schedules
    • Review presenting issue, visit notes, history, orders, and update EMR appropriately
    • Assist physician with exams, conduct pre and post-vital tests and/or procedures as required
    • Fluent in Medical Terminology & Medication Refill protocols
    • Escalate issues outside of existing protocols to meet patient needs.
    • Query clinical information from the EMR (e-Clinical Works)
    • Meet performance and service level criteria as defined in “Performance Metrics”

 Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years related experience in a Pediatric Health Care setting
  • Certified Medical Assistant – must be current
  • Experience in properly handling confidential and sensitive information; knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems (e-Clinical Works is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must live within a 30 minute commute of Plano, TX 75024
