JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will be responsible for managing Winterthur’s social media channels, maintaining website content for Winterthur.org, and producing a wide variety of digital content for various delivery platforms. Ability to storyboard, shoot/record, and edit video, audio, still photography, and create simple graphics is a key responsibility of this position. You will work with stakeholders across the organization and ensure content adheres to Winterthur brand guidelines and supports overall marketing objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Winterthur’s social media channels to strategically expand our social media presence, keep audiences engaged, and maintain our brand. This role will collaborate with all staff on potential content for social media updates
  2. Manage content updates for Winterthur.org, ensuring consistent and connected messaging.  Optimize SEO by driving and developing new content that fits the overall strategy and meets audience needs. This role will be familiar with best practices in page design, information architecture, and flow of information. User-centered design and user experience focus is required
  3. Produce digital content such as photography, short- and long-form videos, live online events, podcasts, etc., using a variety of creative suite tools. This role will also produce some graphics for social media channels and the website
  4. Collaborate with members of the marketing team to develop, design, and manage e-mail marketing campaigns and lists
  5. Support Winterthur’s overall digital content strategy, understand content rights and permissions, sound digital asset management principles, and content reuse objectives
  6. Use tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights to make data-driven recommendations that will strategically expand Winterthur’s online presence
  7. Understand and support programmatic advertising programs by producing relevant digital assets
  8. Manage Google AdWords
  9. Work with Director of Marketing and Technology, graphic designers, and editorial staff on other projects as needed

Compensation: $50,000–$54,000

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Experience: 5–7 years of professional experience in digital marketing and digital content production with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or digital media production. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Preferred Experience: 5–7 years of professional experience in digital marketing and digital content production in a museum or cultural institution.

Knowledge/Skills:

  1. Demonstrated experience in managing social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/
  2. Familiarity with website content management platforms. WordPress experience is a plus.
  3. Familiarity with marketing automation platforms. Active Campaign experience is a plus.
  4. Fluent in creative suite software, video production and editing. Strong photography skills including knowledge of camera, lighting, and sound equipment. 
  5. An eye for design and visual storytelling; you will be responsible for keeping our brand aesthetic in mind when producing digital content.
  6. Knowledgeable in the effective use of existing and emerging communication technologies: webinars, video conferencing, video hosting, podcasting, marketing automation, social media, and websites. 
  7. Understands key metrics for tracking media and marketing effectiveness and can use insight to drive decisions.
  8. Self-starter, fearless when it comes to learning new technologies and can understand how to apply technology to meet organizational goals.
  9. Significant attention to detail and excellent organization skills; ability to hold self and others to high standards.
  10. Ability to deliver high quality content in fast-paced, flexible job environment and handle multiple tasks and details simultaneously.
  11. Outstanding verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a variety of personalities diplomatically.

Essential Functions:

  1. Some evening and weekend work to shoot photos and video for events.
  2. Work environment is a blend of sitting at a desk and moving around the estate, indoors and out, to film content.
  3. Must be able to traverse the estate on paved and unpaved surfaces in a moderately hilly terrain.
  4. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. 
  5. Driver’s license is required as, on occasion, golf carts are used to move around the estate.

Work Schedule: 35-hour work week; Monday–Friday, with occasional night and weekend work.
