Job Description for Field Operations Manager

Field Operations Manager manages the field service operations of oil, gas, or mining machines and equipment on designated sites. Develops policies and procedures to ensure operations comply with all regulatory guidelines. Being a Field Operations Manager oversees the scheduling of routine maintenance on equipment to ensure uptime and adequate performance and researches and plans upgrades. Reviews and negotiates service contracts to ensure resources are adequate to meet obligated budget and deadlines. Additionally, Field Operations Manager may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a director. The Field Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
