Carpenter Apprentice assists carpenters in the construction, maintenance, or remodeling of buildings or other structures. Learns and practices carpentry skills such as cutting, drilling, measuring, flooring, tiling, and various installation procedures. Being a Carpenter Apprentice sets up, transports, and maintains tools. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter Apprentice may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter Apprentice works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
The Electrician - Apprentice ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Being an Electrician - Apprentice typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. In addition, Electrician - Apprentice typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires an Electrician's license from the state. Being an Electrician - Apprentice gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. The Nursing Apprentice assists nurses and physicians within scope and competency. Works under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) to provide care for patients while attending nursing school. Being a Nursing Apprentice performs clinical skills/tasks with defined competencies, including but not limited to: responding to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patients with hygiene care and nourishment, obtaining vital signs, checking patients' glucose, and other tasks as assigned. Documents patient care with additional signature of the RN. In addition, Nursing Apprentice may administer medications with the direct supervision of the RN and dual sign-off. Requires enrollment in an accredited nursing program and the completion of at least one clinical rotation or equivalent. Typically requires an associate degree. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a registered nurse. Nursing Apprentice's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Plumber, Apprentice identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools.
