The Entry Calibration Technician tests and measures accuracy of instruments used to heat, light, voltage, amperage, vacuum, magnetic resistance, or various content measurements. Calibrates measuring and indicating instruments to meet established standards. Being an Entry Calibration Technician typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. In addition, Entry Calibration Technician typically reports to a supervisor. Being an Entry Calibration Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
The Intermediate Calibration Technician may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Assembles, calibrates and maintains various instruments and equipment that measure heat, light, voltage, amperage, weight, vacuum, magnetic resistance, etc. Carries out reliability and performance tests on equipment and makes adjustments required to adhere to government, industry, and organizational standards. Being an Intermediate Calibration Technician typically reports to a supervisor. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being an Intermediate Calibration Technician gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. Working as an Intermediate Calibration Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
