The Cloud Engineering Director makes strategic decisions and recommendations about the development and modification of cloud applications, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Leads and directs all aspects of an organization's cloud systems and strategy. Being a Cloud Engineering Director works collaboratively with stakeholders during the development, launch, and refinement of products and solutions. Oversees the requirement gathering activities with stakeholders and vendors. In addition, Cloud Engineering Director reviews and approves audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure. Maintains up-to-date, extensive, and deep knowledge of cloud products, technology, and best practices. Pursues solutions or alternatives to best meet the needs of the organization.
