Learns and practices carpentry skills such as cutting, drilling, measuring, flooring, tiling, and various installation procedures. Being a Carpenter Apprentice sets up, transports, and maintains tools. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter Apprentice may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter Apprentice works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
The Plumber, Apprentice identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools. Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures and piping in heating, water and drainage systems. Being a Plumber, Apprentice reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and other instructions. Complies with all required safety, building code and inspection requirements. In addition, Plumber, Apprentice has completed required apprenticeship. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require or be working towards a Journeyman Plumber status.
