Tests, monitors, installs and maintains cathodic protection systems used to control corrosion on pipelines, tanks, and other structures. Being a Cathodic Protection Technician I inspects, repairs, tests, and troubleshoots systems and equipment in the field. Reads and interprets maps, GPS data, drawings, and specifications used to Install cathodic protection systems and equipment. In addition, Cathodic Protection Technician I follows all required safety and compliance procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Requires a valid Driver's license. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Cathodic Protection Technician I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
