Job Description Job Overview: A hospital Pharmacy Technician I is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in the pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the distribution of medications to patients in the hospital (inpatient and outpatient units, emergency room, and operating room). The distribution of medications, includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, compounding, packing, labeling, and delivering medications to the units. Employees must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and utilizing pharmacy automated systems. Employees will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scope. Job Requirements: High School Degree or GED Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is required Approved cert is through Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association
