The Research Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory and performing research related activities within the University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics. This position will provide support by performing administrative duties related to ordering lab supplies, maintenance and organization of protocols and documents, remaining in compliance with various standard operating procedures and requirements, and conducting neuroscience research related to gene discovery in rare inherited hematological and neurological disorders, performing functional modeling of disease using molecular experiments involving induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSC) and gene editing technologies, coordinating patient recruitment, maintaining rare disease biorepository and registry, collecting and organizing data, and analyzing results.
