General Summary of Position Will perform duties as a customer service liaison between Environmental Services, Plant Operations and Food and Nutrition Departments. Washes walls, venetian blinds, woodwork, and light fixtures. Cleans hospital rooms and equipment upon discharge of patient. Uses powered and hand cleaning equipment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Performs unit environmental maintenance to ensure a clean environment by placing used and unused linen in soiled holding area. Performs environmental maintenance on nurse's stations and office waiting areas, bathrooms, clean and soiled utility rooms by removing trash, cleaning horizontal surfaces (sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors). Assists Environmental Services Supervisor with environmental maintenance

Communicate problems and incidents to the Environmental Services Coordinator. Clean public restrooms and patient/resident bathrooms, bedrooms, and classrooms daily. Mop, disinfect floors, clean all furnishings, clean up spills and messes, clean walls, pick up trash, and vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture daily. Pick up soiled linen. Keep cleaning cart locked when unattended. Take responsibility for the proper and economical use of supplies. Clean vents and steel plates daily. Clean nursing stations and offices daily. Provide care and/or conduct patient/resident interactions in a manner appropriate for the age, culture, and population being served.
