Job Description for Hearing Aid Specialist

Hearing Aid Specialist programs, fits, and adjusts hearing instruments for customers. Administers and interprets standardized hearing tests, including discrimination testing. Being a Hearing Aid Specialist determines customer needs and selects appropriate hearing aids for customers. Takes ear impressions and prepares and modifies ear molds to ensure proper fit and effective function. Additionally, Hearing Aid Specialist monitors and tracks inventories and manages vendors to ensure adequate supplies and product availability. Conducts preventative maintenance and cleaning of assessment instruments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager.
