About Our Opportunity: The Laboratory Animal Veterinary Assistant will work as part of a pre-clinical studies team with the responsibility of assisting with studies involving laboratory animals. This position includes care of animals in a research setting as well as facility upkeep and maintenance. This position requires a person to be flexible, detail oriented and work with a team but also independently. The candidate must perform the necessary functions to fulfill research obligations while staying within animal use protocols and regulatory compliance. Job Description Job Description The veterinary nurse assistant is the doctor’s primary medical support person. They begin the examination procedure by taking a thorough history, and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and treatment phases. They assist the doctor(s) in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail.
