Job Description for Capacity Planning Manager

Capacity Planning Manager oversees resources to define and manage an organization's operating limits and capacities. Develops forecasts and strategic plans to ensure capacity requirements align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planning Manager troubleshoots complex production issues or relieve bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand future plans and develop responsive capacity forecasting. Additionally, Capacity Planning Manager utilizes production metrics and manufacturing research to develop insights on processes or equipment and recommend improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Capacity Planning Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Capacity Planning Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
