I’m currently working with a leading law firm with a global presence, known for their progressive approach and commitment to excellence who are seeking an experienced Events Manager to join their dynamic Marketing & Business Development team. This role is crucial in implementing a busy programme of events, including seminars, conferences, client hospitality, and webinars, both in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Marketing & Business Development team and the wider firm to plan and manage events throughout their lifecycle, including defining objectives, planning meetings, checklists, budgets, email invitations, vendor management, attending in-person events, managing virtual platforms, data management, and post-event analysis.
Work with lawyers and the Marketing & Business Development team to develop appropriate target lists for each event and track lead generation post-event. Measure success against outlined objectives and provide recommendations for follow-up activity.
Develop strategic events in collaboration with key stakeholders, providing first-class, innovative event design and planning support, and manage event delivery where appropriate.
Manage in-person client events, such as conferences, seminars, webinars, and drinks receptions, with a primary focus on London.
Run virtual and hybrid events, providing briefs to all speakers, managing trial runs, and offering training and on-the-day technical support.
Support and manage key internal events such as Town Halls, Partner Conferences, and Corporate Responsibility events.
Oversee the firm’s calendar of events, including producing the quarterly global events dashboard and implementing recommendations to improve event effectiveness and alignment with strategy.
Analyse event management practices in line with the firm’s strategy and support the implementation of best practices globally, including training.
Key Skills and Experience
Previous events experience within a legal or professional services environment.
Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously on specific projects, delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.
Experience in running in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, as well as supervising and training others.
Excellent project management skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Flexibility to attend events outside of normal working hours and travel within the UK, with potential for some overseas travel.
Previous experience with InterAction and Vuture is desirable.
