The role
As a Qualified Flying Instructor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Leading an, experienced and multi-disciplined team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys the challenge of working in a dynamic and busy Operational environment and is able to apply their knowledge and Managerial skills safely and in line with best practice and regulation.

Day-to-day, the purpose of the Flight Commander - QFI is to ensure delivery of Army Flying Grading on behalf of the MoD to selected military personnel and civilian candidates as required to meet and exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times.

This role is full time and based onsite at Middle Wallop.

Essential experience of the Qualified Flying Instructor:

• Proven leadership ability to lead a small diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with staff and customers when required.
• Excellent planning and organisation skills, to manage different taskings, priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications for the Qualified Flying Instructor:

• Previous military flying experience with a minimum A2 QFI/QHI category.
• Minimum of Commercial Pilots Licence, Unrestricted Instructor Rating (with Aerobatics) and valid Instrument Rating
• Completed a Flying Supervisors Course/ Flight Authorisers Course
• A2 QFI and Flying Training Managers Course to gild the Lilly. Desirables not essential

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS. DBS & CTC Security Clearance.
