Salary: £27,300 - £43,000 ( pro rata) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Contract type: Permanent role – part time (21 hours a week)

Location: BBC Radio Humberside, Hull. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working)

We are currently searching for a dedicated and talented Weekend Breakfast Show Producer to join our dynamic team based in Hull. If you possess a passion for crafting high-quality audio content we want to hear from you.

Our mission at BBC Radio Humberside is to entertain, inform, and educate our audience here in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, but we aspire to go beyond that. We aim to surprise and delight our listeners every day. The weekend breakfast show is presented by Fiona Mills and is broadcast across BBC Radio Humberside and BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

This role will be 21 hours a week and involve outputting the show on a Saturday and Sunday.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will be a motivated and experienced audio producer, capable of creating distinctive content for all platforms, both linear and digital.
  • You will need to be full of ideas and be able to juggle priorities and be calm under pressure.
  • You will need to be highly creative and organised.
  • You will contribute to the planning and brainstorming of ideas for our weekend breakfast show.
  • You will when appropriate, contribute to other BBC services and develop content for social media.
  • You will assist in content preparation prior to broadcast and meet tight deadlines while upholding the highest editorial standards.
  • You will be proficient in using BBC Open Media and Dira! Playout systems and will also have excellent audio editing skills.
  • You will understand and support the BBC's digital content strategy and identify the best audio content for use across all platforms.

Are you the right candidate?

  • Experience of live studio production
  • Essential knowledge of Radio Production and Outside Broadcasts.
  • Strong planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent audio editing skills and knowledge of Open Media and Dira!
  • Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with BBC talent and teams as well as external contributors
  • A broad network of contacts in various fields, including but not limited to entertainment, politics, business, and academia.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills to secure guests who align with the show's objectives.
  • Great eye for a story!
