Care Home Cook

We are recruiting a Part time Cook to join our team at our family owned Care Home, Braeside Home for the Elderly, located in the quint village of Oswaldtwistle. The hours will be on a rota basis, alternative weekends and some bankholidays are included.

About you

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being part of a busy care home environment and has a passion for serving traditional, nutritional and well presented food to suit the needs of the individual resident and has knowledge of food hygiene and allergen awareness. The role will require some baking of cakes and preparation of puddings.

The Role

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for

• The preparation, cooking and serving of meals throughout the day in line with our residents’ preferences and dietary needs e.g. diabetics, texture modified food, vegetarian
• Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy to a high infection control standard.
• Completing paperwork and ensuring it is up to date and complient with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of food hygiene and allergen awareness.
• Assisting with stock management.

Working hours

Part time - 2 days per week. 8am - 4pm. Shift pattern will be based on a rota. Sickness and holiday cover will be required.
