Safeguarding Officer
£26,421 - £28,770
40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
9am – 5.30pm daily

Your role;
1. Effective response to safeguarding incidents as a Designated Safeguarding Lead for CF Education
2. Oversee all pupil risk assessments, behaviour plans and supporting documentation
3. Support the updates for safeguarding documents and procedures, along with safeguarding training.
CF Education are looking for a calm, positive and resilience individual to deal with safeguarding referrals and actions that arise on a day-to-day basis. With a background in safeguarding, they will understand legislation, policies and procedures and the vital importance of safeguarding all pupils within our service. The officer will advise tutors on next steps and respond to incidents on our safeguarding system, escalating concerns where needed and liaising with families and other professionals. Supporting tutors with risk assessments and behaviour plans, they will manage their diary effectively identifying review points and follow up actions. There may be occasions where the safeguarding officer is required to travel to meet with a tutor and young person, as well as responding to the occasional out of hours safeguarding incident.
The role is mainly office based within Ipswich. As such, there may be times when the safeguarding officer supports with tasks allocated to the office team
You will need:
Qualifications/Experience
Experience as a DSL or DDSL and relevant training undertaken
Qualifications in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
Experience of UK education system
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to assess risks and make necessary referrals
Maintain effective communication between all staff, service users and external agencies
Thorough understanding of safeguarding legislation and responsibilities including KCSIE
Experience of completing safeguarding referrals e.g. MASH, PREVENT
Knowledge of GPDR and confidentiality
Ability to use Windows – based software applications to complete reports, use spreadsheets and other documentation required by CF Education
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in a variety of contexts
Experience of using a safeguarding system such as My Concern to report incidents, analyse data and create reports
