Job Description: Department Power Operations Position purpose Co-ordination of activity and the provision of support within the Power Operations team in order to ensure that bilateral counterparty trades, cleared exchange volumes and cross-border capacities transmissions are acquired/nominated to the European TSOs as per the strategy of the Trading Desks to maximise profit and within operational deadlines/existing market rules to minimise negative impacts (financials and regulatory) Assuming responsibility for defined activities or one off projects as defined by Power Operations management Main responsibilities As well as being fully competent with the tasks associated with the Power Operations shifts (ideally exposure to the OSG activity/SCF), the Power Operations supervisor will have the following responsibilities: Coordinating the Day to Day shift activity Troubleshooting of operational issues that occur in the course of the day to day activity. Providing on-call support and to remote log-in if necessary to fix issues Responsibility for the maintenance of all aspects related to the shift. Ongoing review/update of tools and processes to ensure the platform used by the team remains best in class. Resolution of the more complex imbalance queries with counterparts/PX or TSOs on an ongoing basis. Specific responsibility for training new members of team in the general (non-shift specific) use of the Spark, Power Logistics/PowerHub, SGEP, Trade Capture, and any other relevant systems used within Power Operations. Co-ordination for known ‘events’ and market/activity changes. Responsibility for planning and implementing assigned one-off projects First line management, planning, & involvement in performance monitoring process Any other duties as directed by manager. Technical requirements Understand the electrical transmission system and the interconnections between the various European grids In-depth understanding of how Joule, Spark, SGEP, PowerHub and Power Logistics interact, and of the trade lifecycle in general. Understanding of the various nomination logic, communications and format. Ability to troubleshoot nomination issues from source (XML) to sink (TSO platform) Comfortable with all external/internal IT systems required for nominations/capacities/exchanges, with a focus on France and neighbouring countries. Understanding of the EDF historical Long-Term contracts. At least one other European Language (French) is a distinct advantage.
