The Role
The role represents an excellent opportunity to join a global organisation with a passion for innovation and customer care at the heart of everything. Reporting to the Global Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the quality processes within the organisation. This role involves developing, implementing and improving quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and leading a team dedicated to product quality across the business.
You will work closely with all departments at its manufacturing locations in Slough, along with building robust and effective relationships with global teams in the US, EMEA & APAC regions. You will provide valuable technical support between suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders enhancing customer experience by developing a right first time’ / no-fault forwards, prevention-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management Systems
Develop, implement, improve and maintain the company’s quality management systems in accordance with industry standards (ISO 9001)
Monitor and review the effectiveness of the QMS and recommend improvements
Compliance and Certification
Ensure all products and processes comply with relevant regulations and industry standards
Prepare for and manage external audits to maintain necessary certifications
Quality Control and Assurance
Oversee the quality control processes, including inspections and verification of products
Implement and manage corrective and preventative actions (8D, CAR etc.) to address quality issues
Customer Satisfaction
Address customer complaints and ensure timely and effective resolution of quality-related issues
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect and analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Generate details reports on quality metrics, performance, and non-conformities for management review
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support to team members
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work seamlessly with other departments (eg. Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics) to resolve quality issues and implement improvements
Work closely with regional offices, ensuring clear and regular communications and updates are provided
Participate in NPD projects to ensure quality considerations are integrated from the outset
The Individual
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with a “Data-driven” mindset capable of identifying trends and hands-on experience in working with international quality standards, compliances and systems. You will need to have:
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality management role
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, and 8D).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Proficient in conducting inspections, audits, and data analysis.
