An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Sales Manager to join an established Maintenance service provider within the waste management space. As the commercial Sales Manager, you will help expand the business and promote sustainability in the region.
This will involve retaining and expanding customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and executing strategic sales and marketing plans. Over time, the Commercial Manager will also be responsible for building and leading a successful sales and marketing team, contributing to the company's long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Proactively identify and log opportunities for both new business and expansion within existing accounts
- Customer Outreach: Maintain regular contact with leads, clients, and prospects, ensuring alignment with sales goals
- Account Management: Oversee customer, prospect, and suspect activities. Ensure timely follow-ups and completion of customer meeting reports, implementing action points as required
- Sales & Marketing: Develop and implement strategies aimed at increasing revenue and profit margins
- SMR Performance Analysis: Track service, maintenance, and repair (SMR) performance for allocated accounts, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions where necessary
- Pipeline & Activity Reporting: Generate regular reports detailing the status of prospects, suspects, and customer pipelines, ensuring clarity on hot, active, and parked prospects
- Competitor Monitoring: Stay informed on competitor offerings to ensure competitive positioning
- Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve customer issues efficiently by coordinating across internal teams and ensuring follow-through to conclusion
Job Requirements
- Industry Experience: Previous experience within the waste equipment sector, ideally from facilities management (FM) or waste management industries, or a related field but open to other service industries that work to small margins
- SMR Expertise: Proven ability and experience within the service, maintenance, and repair (SMR) arena rather than capital equipment sales
- Social media: Active knowledge and use of social media platforms for business
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) as well as LinkedIn and CRM systems

- Salary: £40,000 plus car plus profit-linked bonus – OTE circa £50,000 per annum
