Flowtech is looking for an ambitious and hard-working individual to join the team as an External Sales Manager. This role comes at an exciting time as Flowtech is expanding its product and service offerings.

THE ROLE
The External Sales Manager role is central to Flowtech’s business. It is ideal for candidates with a background in technical sales, though we are open to various industries and experiences. Passion for sales and operational excellence is crucial. Key requirements include a ‘get stuff done’ attitude, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to demonstrate great initiative. Building rapport and strong communication skills are essential for team, stakeholder, and customer interactions.
The successful candidate will develop their career in a progressive, nurturing UK-based organization. Working alongside Internal Sales, Customer Service, and Administration teams, you will contribute to the broader goals of Flowtech. Comfort with all aspects of selling and cross-selling, an eye for spotting opportunities, and a genuine desire to help customers solve problems are vital. This hands-on role calls for excellent interpersonal skills and commercial acumen.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Customer Support: Be the first point of contact for all designated customers within the territory.
Sales Activities: Applying structure and discipline within day-to-day sales and commercial activity requirements to achieve personal and company targets.
Commercial Performance: Manage and monitor the commercial performance of quotes, pricing actions, and agreements within the customer base to ensure a return-on-investment model is achieved.
Regional Strategy: Execute activities in line with the regional sales strategy.
Marketing: Fulfil marketing briefs, attend trade shows, and represent the business through marketing campaign activities.
Customer Interactions: Have regular, objective-driven interactions within your assigned customer base to achieve increased sales performance.
Strategic Opportunities: Use the value proposition within your customer base to target and profile appropriate strategic opportunities.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal sales, administration, and customer services teams to drive beneficial outcomes.
Supplier Relations: Work with suppliers to ensure value addition to both the customer and supplier bases.
Continuous Improvement: Take feedback and training to improve the quality of sales calls. Actively take responsibility for your own self-development and learning.

THE INDIVIDUAL
Candidates should ideally have relevant experience in a similar role or be able to demonstrate an aptitude for the position. Essential qualities include:

Minimum of 3 year’s sales experience with a proven history of delivering sales in a targeted environment.
Strong commercial acumen.
Understanding of wider team goals and how to impact them.
Self-motivation, good time management, and excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to build rapport and relationships quickly.
Initiative and the ability to act independently when required.
Ability to set and achieve self-stretching targets.
Efficiency and accuracy in administrative tasks.
Effective team player.
Technical fluid power experience is beneficial but not essential.
Full UK driving license.
This field-based role requires travel to customer sites within the East of England territory.
