Role Profile
To work both individually and as part of FNZ’s testing team, facilitating the delivery of quality software by providing rigorous testing activities and accompanying documentation to support each release. To improve the quality of FNZ solutions and mitigate the risk of FNZ releasing defective business critical software to its clients.
Responsibilities
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Plan and prioritise work for all incoming testing
Understand and analyse business requirements to enable the design of detailed test requirements
Creation of clear, destructive and broad test cases that contain the appropriate level of detail
Draft and issue test plans, where appropriate
Creating and maintaining appropriate test data
Perform test execution over FNZ solutions
Create and maintain test scripts in a test management tool, to a specified quality standard
Document and publish using a test management tool, all test results to a defined standard
Document and report issues arising from testing in a timely manner and manage their resolution and tracking
Issue testing status and completion reports to project teams and clients, and be able to present an overview of testing done to clients and to internal release boards as required
Provide estimates of testing effort to the test, delivery and project manager(s) as required
Assist in the ongoing development and improvement of testing standards and procedures across the company.
Non-Essential Education
ISEB/ISQTB Foundation Certificate in software testing is desirable.
Essential Experience
Minimum 3 years testing experience incorporating several aspects of System testing, Regression testing, End to End testing, Load and Performance testing, UAT and OAT
Knowledge and awareness of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)
Experience of working with different development methodologies e.g. Kanban, Scrum
Experience of working with test management tools (such as Jira, HP Quality Centre/ALM, SILK Central) for test planning, executing and reporting.
Non-Essential Experience
Experience of working within the financial sector, ideally with stockbroking knowledge
A background in automated testing (or at the minimum a strong desire to move into automated testing)
Experience of training junior members of a testing team (or at least the enthusiasm to pick up such responsibilities).
