We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer (12 month FTC) to join our growing Data and Analytics team in Bristol. The team is a supportive and friendly team who are passionate about what they do.

Role Summary


What will you be doing?

The Data Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and support of the software owned by the product team.

Key job accountabilities include:

  • Designs solutions in the product team based on analysis of customer requirements.
  • Support the adoption of simplified architecture.
  • Shared responsibility for infrastructure maintenance and support.
  • Maintains AWS (or a similar provider) to configure services, set up permissions, deploy software.
  • Maintains systems on various SaaS (Software as a Service) platforms.
  • Designs, maintains and configures the databases that make up the IOP software landscape.
  • Designs, maintains and contributes to the automated test suites.
  • Support agile ways of working and participate actively in sprint reviews and retrospectives.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who is approachable, supportive and future focussed.

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience

We are looking for someone who has some experience within the following areas:

  • SQL
  • Python
  • Data warehouse concepts, modelling, design, best practice, data lake
  • Source control
  • Data pipeline development
  • Snowflake
  • CI/CD
  • Power BI
  • Data Quality Frameworks (e.g. Great Expectations)

We are looking for someone to attend the Bristol office on a fortnightly basis. Any travel to our Bristol office is at the employee’s own expense.
