Kitchen Assistant - Care home

Role Overview:
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen staff in the preparation and delivery of meals to our residents. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others through their work in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of meals under the guidance of our head chef and kitchen staff.
• Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and well-maintained at all times.
• Help with the receipt and storage of food supplies.
• Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
• Assist with serving meals to residents, ensuring dietary requirements are met with compassion and understanding.
• Support the kitchen team with dishwashing and other cleaning duties as required.

Requirements:

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety (training will be provided).
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
• Compassionate and patient, with a genuine desire to work within a care home setting.
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.

Contract length: 3-12 months

Salary: £14.90-£15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 56 per week
