Hours:
- April 1st to September 30th: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday: 8 hours 15 minutes; Friday: 4 hours 30 minutes).
- October 1st to March 31st: Part-time, 17 hours per week over two days, flexible to suit weather conditions.
Salary: £16,210.48 annually (Full-time equivalent £22,308), paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.

About Us:
Markshall, located in Coggeshall, Essex, is renowned for its stunning arboretum and meticulously maintained gardens. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Horticulturalist/Propagator to join our team and help us continue to offer an exceptional experience to our visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Walled Garden: Maintain and develop the Walled Garden to the highest standards, implementing new planting schemes and ensuring the garden remains a vibrant and inviting space for visitors.
- Coach House Garden: Enhance this private hire venue with beautiful and varied planting, working closely with the Events Team to ensure it is always event-ready.
- Nursery: Propagate a variety of plants from seeds and cuttings to meet the garden’s needs.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Team Support: Supervise and guide less experienced staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and enthusiastic team environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in large garden settings.
- Relevant horticultural qualification (RHS level 2 or equivalent).
- Strong practical horticultural skills and knowledge.
- Full clean driving license.
- Physically capable of meeting the role’s demands throughout the seasons and in all weather conditions.
