Role Summary

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring that the venue consistently delivers an exceptional guest experience while meeting financial and operational goals. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, a deep understanding of the restaurant industry, and the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service that aligns with the brand’s high standards.
    • Implement and maintain operational procedures that enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead, train, and mentor the restaurant team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Manage recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure they are equipped to deliver outstanding service.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Ensure that every guest receives a memorable dining experience that reflects the restaurant’s commitment to quality and authenticity.
    • Handle guest feedback and complaints in a professional and effective manner, implementing improvements where necessary.
    • Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor, engaging with guests and ensuring high service standards.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage the restaurant’s budget, including labor costs, food costs, and overheads, to meet financial targets.
    • Analyze financial reports and use data to drive operational improvements and maximize profitability.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and control costs without compromising quality.
  • Business Development:
    • Work closely with senior management to identify opportunities for growth and expansion within the market.
    • Lead marketing initiatives and local community engagement to boost the restaurant’s profile and drive traffic.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Menu and Product Quality:
    • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure the menu consistently delivers on quality and authenticity.
    • Monitor food presentation, portion sizes, and overall product consistency to meet the brand’s standards.
    • Work with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients while managing food costs effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Passion for the restaurant industry, with a deep understanding of operational excellence.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, preferably within a restaurant or foodservice setting.
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, particularly ramen, is an advantage but not essential.
