Electrical Design Engineer

Attention all Electrical Design Engineers

Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a reputable Building Services design consultancy on a long-term contract basis. This position will involve a mixture of survey and design work. The successful candidate will be expected to operate on a hybrid basis, attending Croydon office 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
• Survey existing Electrical services and make necessary adjustments to the defsigns.
• Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
• Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools.
• Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.
  
  

Key requirements

• Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
• Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial.
• Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial.
