Our client is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time position, starting in September and continuing until the end of the academic year. The responsibilities will include, supporting a pupil in Year 6 with ASD and providing class-based support to other pupils who require help accessing the curriculum.
This SEN Teaching Assistant Job Role
- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, particularly those with ASD.
- Assist in implementing the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2 (KS2).
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to support student learning.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom activities.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Required Skills And Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
- Previous UK school experience is essential.
- Previous experience working with children who have SEN, preferred if experience is with children who have ASD.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
