Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in an Ofsted-rated ‘Good' school? Flourish Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Oldbury. Our client is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time position, starting in September and continuing until the end of the academic year. The responsibilities will include, supporting a pupil in Year 6 with ASD and providing class-based support to other pupils who require help accessing the curriculum.

This SEN Teaching Assistant Job Role

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, particularly those with ASD.
  • Assist in implementing the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to support student learning.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • Previous UK school experience is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children who have SEN, preferred if experience is with children who have ASD.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
