Brief Description


Location: Based at London Blackfriars with occasional travel to Ashford and Orpington

Position Type: Part-Time (2.5 days / 17.5 hours a week)

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HR Business Partner to join our team on a part-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in delivering our business-aligned People Plan and HR strategy. Your expertise will provide essential coaching and support to our leadership teams, ensuring a positive and productive work environment for our Maintenance teams within the Kent Route.


About the role (External)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Implementation: Collaborate closely with business leaders to deliver the HR Strategy/People Plan, focusing on talent management, succession planning, and change management to drive high performance.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders, providing expert coaching, advice, and challenge on HR issues.
  • Operational Support: Offer operational HR support on organizational changes, senior appointments, salary and bonus management, and graduate/apprentice programs.
  • People Solutions: Deliver client-responsive, cost-effective, and integrated people solutions that align with key business objectives.
  • Union Collaboration: Work with union representatives to support business solutions and ensure effective people management.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with HR colleagues across the business to address cross-business and geographical HR issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • Strong business/commercial acumen and understanding of business needs.
  • Proven experience in partnering with senior managers to improve people management.
  • Passion for customer service and ability to demonstrate previous achievements.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing best practice HR solutions.
  • Experience in coaching and influencing senior managers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to identify, develop, and retain talent.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience demonstrating technical HR knowledge.
  • Proven track record in a complex working environment.
  • Experience in organization change programs (e.g., TUPE, organization redesign, redundancy programs).
  • Ability to manage multiple business priorities.

Desired:

  • MCIPD/post-graduate human resources qualification.
  • Understanding of project management principles and experience managing complex projects.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment.
