Your role:


As the Director of Data Architecture & Analytics you will take ownership of developing the Data and Business Intelligence functions across the company and driving a long-term data analytics strategy. There will be scope to set the future data strategy for all of the businesses within the organisation.

You will work at the crossroads of Commercial (Sales, Medical & Marketing), finance, HR, and business operations, with a clear mission: design and build a data architecture ecosystem that empowers advanced decision-making. Starting from basic data aggregation and reporting, you will lead your team (initially external and. in time, internal) in answering the ‘what’ questions, and then rapidly progressing towards uncovering the ‘why’ and ultimately building a toolset to enable predictive analytics across the organisation.


Your responsibilities:

  • Data architecture: identify how we design, build and maintain a scalable data architecture to support reporting and analytics across the organisation.This should include data ingestion across multiple applications, data normalization that drives an analytics and visualization capability across business functions to enable real time (or near) decision making.
  • Data Warehousing: lead the development and implementation of ETL processes from internal and external data sources to build a proprietary data repository.
  • Build analytics capability: Develop an enterprise wide analytics capability (through external and in time internal resources) comprising data engineers, analysts and build the skills and expertise to support the organisational business growth plans.
  • Run analytics: Partner with business functions (i.e. Commercial, Medical Affairs, Finance, HR) to analyze various internal and external datasets to provide business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Data visualization/Dashboarding: enable organisation to develop skills in creation and utilization of data visualizations and enable effective decision making.


Your skills and experience:

Professional experience:

  • Proven experience in Data Architecture and Analytics with demonstrable experience in the healthcare industry.

Technical skills:

  • Strong expertise in Data warehousing, Data Cleansing & Data Management concepts; Analytics, Visualization and dashboarding technologies (notably PowerBI); Applying artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming techniques related to data queries.
  • Broad understanding of pharmaceutical business processes – R&D through to Commercialization.
  • Versed in the pharmaceutical industry practices and regulations and their applicability to business analytics.
  • Proficient in researching and identifying new tools and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Education:

  • University Degree in business, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Masters Degree or data analytics degree a plus.


Soft skills:

  • Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking to define the strategy for Data Architecture across the company to enable utilization of data to support business decisionmaking.
  • Analytical and communication abilities to create and align IT plans with the business objectives.
  • Ability to deliver IT services with effective project management.
  • Experience in managing IT services ensuring availability, stability, effective problem resolution, and an outstanding user experience.
  • Lean thinking capable of driving process simplicity throughout the organisation by leveraging technology solutions.
  • Able to develop strong relationships with complex customer groups/ to understand business strategy, future direction, changes and needs and opportunities to deliver value adding solutions.
  • Ability to understand market trends in data architecture and analytics and leverage best for breed approaches to technology strategy.
  • Ability to create new and/or leverage existing relationships with technology providers to collaborate together in defining the strategy and execution.
  • Ability to master complexity, decomposing large complex problems into manageable components– help build skills within IT Business Applications & Corporate Systems team.
  • Fluent English; with conversational Japanese.
